State of the Blog, 14 August 2016

Blog:
Welcome to the first "State of the Blog", a monthly report on how things are going over in my corner of the universe. With any luck, there will be many more to come.

Bad news first: school is resuming for me soon, meaning that I will be unable to work on my PC. This means that a lot of work will need to be halted, but this also means work can begin at the earliest levels for new, non-game related content. More on that, hopefully, in the weeks to come.

Destiny: August has been the birth month of one of my most ambitious projects, and so far things are going great! Work is beginning on Episode 4, and from there we launch into the story of Year 1 Destiny. So far, the story is planned out through Year 2 (The Taken King expansion pack), but the imminent release of Year 3's Rise of Iron in September will mean that more planning is ahead.

Needless to say, I'll be playing RoI once it's released, and begin planning where to take the story. More to come in the months ahead!

XCOM: Good news, bad news. Good news is that work is continuing on XCOM: The Long War's prologue mini-series. Due to work on Destiny, release of Part IV has been delayed, but my attention is returning to it so I may finish it. Worst case scenario, this gets finished early September rather than in August.

The bad news is two-fold. First, without my PC, I will be unable to play and record the Long War footage I need to write the actual story for, and it may be a very long time before I can go through with it. Second, I have been playing XCOM: Ebemy Within to prepare for Long War, and have come to the horrifying conclusion that I'm not great at XCOM.

As such, this means that the Long War series will need to be delayed for a while, but not the Prologue. I intend to finish that mini-series over the rest of 2016, and continue practicing in Enemy Within on my MacBook throughout the semester.
