State of the Blog, 14 October 2016

As the warm summer begins to fade into a cold autumn, it seems that the time of the Skeleton War is upon us. Let us hope that Mr. Skeletal favors us in the bone-shivering conflict to come.

All silliness aside, October has been a busy week for me personally, but I tried to get as much done as I could in between illness, death-by-homework, and grinding for the new Raid. Here's the update on what things are looking at so far and where they're going.

XCOM: The Long War: For those of you who have been waiting for the next installment of the prologue, I have good news. Part IV is nearing completion, with an expected release date of Halloween proper. I'm hoping for it to be a properly spooky one, and something that you all will enjoy. In related news, I've decided to extend the Prologue out further than what I originally planned in order to better fill the time between now and when I can begin to work on the actual series proper. Expect a new release every month.

Destiny: As per usual, work has been going pretty smoothly with Destiny. Episode 6 has been released, as has something entirely new. While every episode of the series covers an in-game event, there still exists a lot of in-universe time between each installment. This isn't time being wasted by anyone, and I decided that instead of having to play catch-up every time we cut to a new episode to what people have been doing between sorties, I would try something different. From here on in, expect a mini-episode in-between every few episodes. These are meant to convey character development and interaction in the Tower rather than out in the field, as we saw in the very first. These also allow me to tell stories that are covered in the lore, but are not actually seen by the player, something that I'm very excited about for the future.

Blog Organization: Not much to say here. Continued work on labelling and organization is a bit of a chore, but it keeps things nice and easy to find on the site itself. Hopefully those of you who visit the blog proper every once in a while are enjoying the feature. As a end note, feel free to send me comments here to let me know of any suggestions you might have for better organization of the blog. I'm trying to make this the best it can be, and a lot of that hinges on the opinions of others.
