Hmm. Im not sure if you intended it, but it looks like this: http://imgur.com/a/h29Jv
Otherwise all the backgrounds are black. Additionally, the user is unable to select individual posts in an archived month. Overall, change is nice but these are things to consider.
Huh, I didn't know about the archive thing. On my computer, I seem to be able to do it fine, though. Maybe it comes down to what browser you are using?
I did like the black background aside from the homepage picture, but if it makes reading difficult I can try to change it around. I'm kind of a sucker for the sleek, modern feel of this theme, though, so it'd probably end up being a similar style to this one.
Not at all in terms of the reading. In fact, white on black is great contrast, and as someone who reads at night a lot, it's easy on the eyes. I think that is a great thing. I just wasn't sure if it was intentional! But if the homepage picture was meant to remain as that alone. Then it's fine.
As for the archive thing, I use Chrome. I can see the months, but for example if I pick one with more than one entry, I am taken to a page like this: http://imgur.com/a/r2JpY
If this is also intentional, then I say overall it's a good change! Being able to select from a drop down without being taken to a new change is minor in comparison to your satisfaction with your layout.
Oh, okay, good to know. I wanted something that wasn't stock (it was a very generic clip-art looking starship bridge originally, which is one of the reasons why I picked the theme, though I knew that the picture had to go), so I went to the Hubble Space Telescope's website and found a recent picture that Blogger would accept.
As far as the archive goes, I went exploring and saw that older months did indeed take me to a screen similar to that, but things posted in the current month were listed under a dropdown. I don't see a way to toggle that on the user's end, so I'll poke around on my side to see if there's a way to make that slightly more user friendly. Having to go from one webpage to another in order to find yet another webpage is far from practical.
I'll leave it as it is as far as how it classifies labels, though. That'd be more for general searching, rather than looking through what has come out when. Speaking of searching, I appreciate the new search bar that came with this layout, as well as having the compendiums listed at the top of the page where it's easy to see them.
